The chinampa zone today
has both the problem of insufficient water in some areas, and too much
in others-especially along the northern boundary of San Gregorio and San
Luis. The soil of the field in this photo is water logged, plants do not
grow well, and the height of the water represents a major obstacle to
productive farming. Since this photo was taken in 1997, much of the northern
boundary region has been completely inundated. |
