This unique chinampas on
the border of the chinampa zones of San Gregorio and San Luis reflects
the practice of deliberately filling in some canals-or allowing them to
fill in as they dried up-in order to join several fields together. Another
interesting characteristic of this field is the way it gets higher toward
the back. Fields on both sides have been allowed to become overgrown with
grass that is cut periodically for cattle feed. |
